Funeral services for Leona Faye Wheeler, 85, of Brownwood, will be at 2 p.m. today, Tuesday, May 20 in the Davis-Morris Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow in the Pleasant Valley Cemetery in Brown County under the direction of Davis-Morris Funeral Home. Mrs. Wheeler died Sunday, May 18, 2003, at Brownwood Regional Medical Center. Mrs. Wheeler was born July 21, 1917, in Bronte, Texas, to Henry and Ola Allison Rogers. She married Alvie I. Wheeler in Comanche in 1943. He preceded her in death in 1983. She worked for Brownwood Manufacturing Company and Texas Feather Factory and had lived most of her life in Brown County. She was a member of the Salt Creek Baptist Church, a Gold Star Mother and a member of the May Senior Citizens for many years. She is survived by a daughter, Ann Jayroe of San Antonio; daughter and son-in-law, Nell and Pat Coursey of Brownwood; son and daughter-in-law, Raymond and Lynda Wheeler of May; 12 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; a sister, Irene Hardy of Snyder; and a number of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by husband, Alvie I. Wheeler; sons, Roger Adams and Wayne Wheeler; granddaughter, Mechaele Coursey; parents, Henry and Ola Allison Rogers; and two brothers, J. E. Rogers and Marlin Rogers.
